Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) are rights that must be protected by the state through legal regulations. The state has made several laws to protect HKI, namely Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications, Law Number 13 of 2016 concerning Patents, Law Number 30 of 2000 concerning Trade Secrets, Law Number 28 of 2014 about Copyright. However, there are all the rules of law. Many court decisions prove the potential for HKI still exists, even though there are legal rules that protect them.
